
REMOTE RESPITE PROGRAM
Group care sessions enabling caregivers to rest and focus on well-being.
AIHS is pleased to have been awarded $100,000 in grant funding from the Alzheimer's Association, which will be used to enhance dementia-specific respite care for residents throughout northeast Indiana.
The Remote Respite Program is designed for individuals living with memory loss, facilitated by dementia-trained staff who emphasize person-centered care. This program offers caregivers valuable time to focus on their own well-being.

Group respite sessions occur one day per week from 1:00 - 4:00pm at the following locations:

This program is available to individuals who:

Reside in Adams, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells or Whitley County
-
Are living with memory loss
-
Are able to benefit from a group setting
-
Do not need assistance with activities of daily living

Are able to provide their own transportation
Purpose of Dementia-Specific Respite Care

Many caregivers feel they cannot leave the person living with dementia in the care of others. Dementia-specific respite services provide peace of mind, offering high-quality, compassionate care in a safe and supportive environment.​

By utilizing respite care services, caregivers can focus on their own well-being—reducing stress, preventing burnout and maintaining a healthier balance in their lives.
