| The Family Caregiver Program assists caregivers of older people by providing
comprehensive information, education, assistance with support group formation,
and a library of caregiving resources. The program has a respite fund
that pays for a substitute caregiver when the usual caregiver has external
obligations. Resource Center Specialists on aging are available to listen
to concerns, answer questions and provide information about elder care
resources in northeast Indiana. An on-site library contains numerous books,
videotapes and pamphlets about a wealth of issues related to family caregiving.
Many of the books are available to be checked out. Computers with Internet
access are also available for caregivers to use during regular library
hours: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those who require assistance
are asked to call ahead for a reservation. |
